A consolation prize of ₹5,000 has also been awarded for tickets in other series that match the number of the first prize of ₹1 crore in the KN-642 draw.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s State Lotteries Department has announced the winning numbers for the Karunya Plus KN-642 draw, conducted on September 24, 2026. The weekly lottery has a top prize of ₹1 crore, while participants can also win prizes under several other categories. Those holding KN-642 tickets can compare their numbers with the official result to check their eligibility for a prize.

Karunya Plus is part of the Kerala government’s weekly lottery programme. Every draw is assigned a specific number, and prizes are distributed on the basis of the numbers selected during the draw. The previous edition, KN-641, was held on September 17.

KN-642: Top Prize Winners

The biggest prize in the September 24 draw has gone to ticket PU 614457. The ticket, which carries the ₹1 crore first prize, was sold in Kannur.

The next two major prizes have also been announced. PN 689005 has won the ₹30 lakh second prize, whereas PO 802533 has secured the ₹5 lakh third prize.

Apart from these awards, the lottery scheme provides a ₹5,000 consolation prize for qualifying tickets from the other series that carry the same number as the first-prize ticket.

What About the Sixth to Ninth Prizes?

KN-642 also includes four lower prize categories. The sixth prize is ₹1,000, followed by ₹500 for the seventh prize, ₹200 for the eighth prize and ₹100 for the ninth prize.

These awards are based on the relevant last-four-digit numbers drawn by the department. For the complete and final list covering these categories, ticket holders should refer to the official result issued by the Kerala State Lotteries Department and the Kerala Government Gazette.

The department’s LOTIS (Lottery Information System) provides official information related to the state’s lottery draws. Participants should use the department’s records to confirm a result rather than relying on unofficial lists or social media posts.

Karunya Plus Draw Date and Timing

Karunya Plus is conducted as a weekly lottery, with its draw scheduled every Thursday at 3 PM. The Kerala State Lotteries Department oversees the draw and subsequently makes the result available through its official lottery information system.

The previous draw in the series was KN-641, conducted on September 17, 2026. The latest edition, KN-642, followed on September 24.

Procedure to Claim a Winning Ticket

Finding a matching number does not complete the prize process. Winners must first verify their ticket against the result officially published by the Kerala State Lotteries Department and the Kerala Government Gazette.

The original lottery ticket should be preserved carefully. Under the department’s rules, prize claims are generally required to be submitted within 30 days of the draw date.

For the first and second prizes, winning tickets have to be submitted to the Director of State Lotteries. The claim can be made in person, sent through insured registered post or submitted through authorised banks, along with the documents required by the department.

For prizes worth ₹1 lakh or less, winners can approach the relevant District Lottery Office or lottery sub-office. The claimant is also required to sign at the designated place on the reverse of the ticket. The department then checks the ticket and supporting documents before processing the payment.

Winners Should Protect the Ticket

The physical lottery ticket is an important document for claiming the prize. Winners should therefore keep it safely and avoid folding, damaging, altering or tampering with it.

According to the applicable lottery rules, mutilated or tampered tickets may be rejected during verification. Winners should also note that applicable income tax and other statutory deductions will be made in accordance with government rules.

Before submitting a claim, ticket holders should cross-check the winning number, prize category and claim requirements through the official Kerala State Lotteries Department channels.
